Make Be-Leaves was contacted by the owner of the Marriott Hotel in Times Square regarding their prestigious Sky Room Lounge – the largest roof top lounge in Manhattan.

Their existing planters were filled with live plants, but the severe winter weather made it impossible to maintain the live plants. The owner expressed concern that the customers sit so close to the plants. This required that the artificial plants not only withstand the outdoor winter weather, but also look very realistic. In addition, budget was a factor

In the North Terrace, which has floor to ceiling windows, but fully enclosed, Make Be-Leaves designed the plantings with UV Outdoor Podocarpus. Though these plants are fully protected from the outdoor weather, direct sun required the plants to have UV protection.

The entire project was produced, shipped and installed within several weeks, and within the client’s budget.
